Instructions: 1. Rinse the toor dal in cold water and add it to a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is soft and mushy. 2. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds and let them splutter. 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent. 4. Add the chopped tomato, carrot, and potato and sauté for 2-3 minutes. 5. Add the sambar powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix well. 6. Add 2 cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil. 7. Reduce the heat to low and let the vegetables cook for 10-12 minutes or until they are soft. 8. Add the cooked toor dal to the pan and mix well. 9. Let the sambar simmer for 5-7 minutes or until it reaches the desired consistency. 10. Serve hot in a bowl and enjoy your quick and easy sambar bowl.
